Taxidermy Training

For those who willing to study Taxidermy, opens from (3) a to (4) times a year at Yangon Zoological Garden and, students or teachers from universities and people from departmental organization came yearly. Taxidermist, U Baw Than teaches training in “Lecture and workshop”, which will take about a week.

Volunteer, Internship and Research Programs

Education department of Zoos and Gardens Unit and Zoological Garden (Yangon) offer educational programs like volunteer program, internship program, research program. Internship and volunteer programs take three months and you may earn a completion certificate as well. In addition, our education department also provides necessary information for those people who researching about animals conservation.Wild animals and environment conservation program are also conducts by collaborating with the scholars from local and foreign countries.

Breeding Program

Not only endangered and endemic wild animals’ species are conserving but also protecting their extinction. Among them, Myanmar’s endemic species Star tortoise and Roofed turtle are successfully incubated and also other wild animals such as Bengal Tiger, Fishing cat, Oriental Pied Hornbill, Great Hornbill etc. are successfully conserving in captive breeding.

Feeding Program

Animal lovers can now feed the animals at Yangon Zoo by following the rules of the Ministry of Health and Sports. Only 2 groups are allowed per day: one in the morning and one in the evening. The morning group can feed between 8:30 to 9:00 am and the evening group between 2:00 to 2:30 pm.
