The Carnivora House inside the Yangon Zoological Gardens compound was officially declared a heritage building on October 14, 2018, and marked with a commemorative Blue Plaque. Built in 1915, it is one of the oldest structures in Yangon Zoo, which originally opened in 1901 in honor of Queen Victoria as the Victoria Memorial Park and Zoological Gardens.
The Reptile House conserves and maintains Burmese Pythons, Reticulated Pythons, Banded Kraits, Vipers, Cobras, turtles, and lizards.

The Elephant Museum in Myanmar aims to protect and preserve wild elephants living in natural forest areas, reduce conflicts between humans and elephants, and raise public awareness about elephant conservation and the illegal trade of elephant parts. The museum also provides information about the management and care of domestic elephants, promotes understanding of elephants’ natural behavior, and highlights the relationship between humans and elephants to encourage cooperation in conservation efforts.
Mo Mo is a beloved female elephant of Yangon Zoological Gardens who arrived at the zoo when she was about seven years old. Over the years she became a symbol of the zoo and gained affection from visitors for her gentle nature and long life.
This activity allows visitors to connect with nature, observe birds up close, and capture memorable moments through photography.
